Art of Asia Journal, 1 (14) 2025 (e-book) (PDF do pobrania)

With this year’s edition, we are pleased to present the magazine under a new title – Art of Asia Journal. The change marks a natural evolution in our publication’s identity and focus. The previous title, Art of the Orient, has served us well for many years; however, we felt it was time to adopt a name that better reflects both the breadth of our subject matter and the contemporary context in which we engage with Asian art and culture. The term “Orient”, while historically used, is increasingly viewed as outdated, and we wished to choose a title that speaks to today’s global readership with clarity and inclusivity. Art of Asia Journal emphasises our continued dedication to the study, appreciation, and dissemination of Asian art in all its diversity – past and present, traditional and contemporary. The new title also distinguishes our publication from others in the field and underscores its annual, scholarly yet accessible character.
